Oh, God. Help me be strong.
It's not something I usually say when interviewing someone for a job, but I need all the freaking help I can get. I look down at my tablet and pretend to read through his resume as I peek through my eyelashes to ogle his ass.
It's hard not to, I mean, he's reaching—stretching his ripped back so that his white t-shirt hugs his torso in the most delicious way—as he gathers his surveillance equipment.
He turns around and I jump back with surprise.
"Sorry," he says. "Didn't realize you were so close." His attention starts at the right place. My eyes. But then his look falls to my full lips, lingers for a few moments, then slips right down my to my low cut halter top.
Where my nipples are standing at attention.
Oh. Just. Kill. Me. Now.
I bring the tablet up to my chest and try to pull myself together. It's not easy. He's quite the specimen. Bright blue eyes, dark hair, and a slight bit of stubble on his face that has me wondering how that might feel between my legs. I smile and stare at his mouth as it moves, but none of his words make it past my fantasy of stripping him naked right here in the parking garage and screwing his brains out.
Wait, did he just ask me a question?
"What?" I ask as I force my eyes to stay on his face and not the huge bulge in his pants.
"Hot out here, I said."
I blush and his mischievous eyes travel down my body again. My nipples are covered by the tablet this time. "Yes, very hot. It's like a hundred and twenty degrees today and standing in this parking garage isn't helping anything, so can you just show me what you've got so I can get back to work upstairs?"
Did I just ask him to show me what he's got? What is wrong with me?
He waves a hand at me to climb into the back of his vehicle. I almost snort at the cliché, but thankfully I hold it down. "You want me to get in your truck?"
"How else am I gonna show you what I've got, Mrs. Mason?"
I flash him a pretend smile and correct him. "Miss Mason, actually. And don't call me that. It's just Signy, OK?"
"Sig it is then. Go on, climb in. I've got a nice couch back here."
"A couch?" Why am I not surprised?
"My line of work, remember? It keeps me away from home most nights. I have to find a way to get some shut eye when I can."
Right. The couch is for shut-eye.
